A Plea to All of Newsvine

There are changes a-foot. And, they aren't completely for the better. I have been a part of the Newsvine community for, going on, 4 years now. When I first came here, this site was mainly liberal, so there weren't many problems of which I'm about to speak of.

- There could be a player strike in 2011.Just want to point out that it's not a player strike. It's an owner lockout. The owners want all NFL players to take an 18% pay cut. If they do not reach an agreement, the owners will lock the players out of facilities.

- I saw the comment about the rise in real estate calls, but at the same time, since I'm a cynic, is it because real estate is cheap down there, combined with the economy. Just grabbing a piece of the pie while it's cheap.

- I don't think it's really hacking. You may have purchased it, but I believe in the EULA, which could be, should be, and is debated as a legally binding contract. You agree to validation of your product to ensure that your copy is legit, and someone hasn't stolen your key for it.

- The rest of the country was rooting for the Saints because of Katrina. People from New Orleans were rooting for the Saints because.. well, that's fairly obvious why.

- Life will carry on in New York, regardless of the trial site, except obviously the security perimeter. And, when did this become a movie? Call me an idiot, but I wouldn't try to rob a bank while the entire police force is there.

- Hasn't legalized marijuana.As much as I wish this has be done, I don't see it happening anywhere in the near future, and didn't when he came into office.

- Waste of money? For who? The companies in the parades get their advertisement, float creators may get money, and the clean up crews are most likely working overtime. You, yourself, do not have to pay (other than transportation) to actually watch the parade.. so.

- In person, when I went (2004, iirc), it was great. I've never really liked it on TV, especially since I went to it in person. Television dilutes the experience of watching the parade.
